In the marketing lexicon, Cost Per Mille or CPM refers to the money an advertiser invests for one thousand ad views. This typically applies to display ads – banners, native advertising, etc.
In HypeAuditor CPM metric is used to evaluate an estimated amount of money paid to an analyzed influencer for one thousand views of their videos. These metrics refer to Instagram, YouTube and TikTok influencers.
To calculate CPM for YouTube and TikTok influencers we take public data about views, while for Instagram influencers we take Reach value.
Thus, for YouTube and TikTok the formula will be as follows:
CPM = Total Budget ÷ Number of Views X 1,000
where Number of Views is tracked automatically, and Total Budget should be set up manually.
While for Instagram formula will be as follows:
CPM = Total Budget ÷ Reach X 1,000
where Reach can be set up manually, but if not – the tool will consider Est. Reach; Total Budget should be set up manually as well.
